The importance and power of prayer

Our reference verse is taken from the book of Philippians 4:6  Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

And James 5:16-18 which says: Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.

God speaks to us through His written word, the Bible, while Christians speak to God through prayer. It is considered to be the best way to communicate with God and to maintain our relationship with Him. Prayer is a two way channel in which God and man communicate with each other.
