Verily, every Sunday many used to go along with their parents to church…
and one began to faithfully pray as a family at the table. And when one went to bed, Mommy told a Bible story before bedtime.
Many parents want the best for their children.
And they want their children to be safe and healthy and to fear the Lord. But once one leaves the parental home and has to stand on one’s own two feet, there are many who haven’t accepted anything from their parents! And they do a lot of unwise things with which they grieve their parents, but especially God. They smoke and drive far too fast and they no longer go to church. They drink a lot of alcohol, and quarrel with their neighbors and everyone, and live unhealthy and unwise, unholy and worldly!
2 Timothy 3, verses 1 to 10 But know this, that in the last days, grievous times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, no lovers of good, traitors, headstrong, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God; holding a form of godliness, but having denied the power thereof. Turn away from these, also. For of these are those who creep into houses, and take captive gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, always learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Even as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so do these also oppose the truth; men corrupted in mind, reprobate concerning the faith. But they will proceed no further. For their folly will be evident to all men, as theirs also came to be. But you did follow my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, patience, love, steadfastness.

And verse 11 Finally, brothers, “but also sisters“, rejoice. Be perfected, be comforted, be of the same mind, live in peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you.
