For from within, out of the hearts of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, sexual sins, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lustful desires, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, and foolishness. All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.”

Everything good comes from Him. The Lord says that He will humble you; if you continue to transgress His commandments, He will punish you in more ways.
Leviticus 26, verse 18 If you in spite of these things will not listen to me, then I will chastise you seven times more for your sins.
